I will miss Siggy very much. Every time I went to the repair store I ended up talking to Siggy for at least half hour if not more. Few times I just visited just to hear him talk and laugh. He was a colourful character full of life. My thoughts are with the family in their time of sorrow.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was lucky to have Siggy as a neighbor and friend for over 20 years and I will miss our long conversations over the fence or in the back of his shop. A truly remarkable craftsman in his chosen trade and a friend to all who knew him. He will be truly missed by all. Bolton has lost another staple of our community with Siggy’s passing and the closing of Village Shoe Repair. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during their time of sorrow.

Our condolences to the family.
I first remember Siggy from the days of his fathers shoe repair shop behind the Hilltop IGA. When he took over the shop Downtown, it was a regular Saturday stop. I always tried to visit when ever we were back in Bolton, will truly miss those visits.

Please accept our condolences. I once mentioned the shop smelled like cigarettes. Siggy, , in his way, just said “Leave”. Hilarious. Of course, I stayed. Village Shoe Repair with Siggy at the helm will be missed. Breathe easy now and rest in peace.

My condolences to the family.
Having been a customer but more importantly a friend and visitor to the shop over the past few decades I can say that I will truly miss Siggy and his quirky humour. A number of years ago he helped me build a beautiful salmon/trout fishing rod which he tried to buy back from me shortly after it was finished up until my last visit a few weeks back. We had many hours of conversation about family, life, fishing and just about evrything else in between. May he rest in peace.

I will miss my fishing buddy and good friend . I stopped in Friday with a coffee for him, who would have thought. Ziggy taught me everything I know about trout and salmon fishing . I have so many fond memories of us just driving around and fishing the rivers together. It just wont be the same without him around. I will always think of him every time I pick up my fishing rod .My thoughts and prayers are with all of you .

I was so saddened to hear of Siggy’s passing. He was a quirky man, who knew his trade inside and out, and would tell it like it is. He may have rubbed some people the wrong way but I appreciated and respected him. I found with Siggy if you showed him respect he would bend over backwards for you, and he always stood by his work. I visited him a few times for a pair of boots he was working on and he would ask me to come back as he would not be happy with the quality of the material and would try something new. I wish I had a chance to get to know him better. My sincerest condolences to the family and close friends of Siggy. May he rest in peace. Helen
