(February 6, 1926 – January 9, 2010)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sisko at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville after a brief illness. Sisko came to Canada in 1939 after growing up in Tervajoki, Finland. As was the practice in those days, she re-started primary school at the age of 13, but went on to graduate high school and begin her working life as a secretary at 18. After a long career that saw her move from Kirkland Lake to Sudbury to Toronto, Sisko retired in 1991. In 2002, she moved to Bolton to be closer to her son and his family, and was able to maintain her own apartment until her illness in January. She is survived by her loving son Raymond and his wife Kathleen, her most special granddaughter Emma who was the light of her life, nephews Ron, and Ken and their families, niece Marjatta and her family in Finland, along with many, many friends throughout the area. A special thank you to all of Sisko’s extended support network of family, friends, and the service community in Bolton without whom she would not have had the quality of life she was able to enjoy until her passing. The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Tuesday evening from 7 – 9 o’clock. Funeral service will be held in
