Leonard & Larry, So sorry to read of your mom’s passing. You won’t recognize my name as it goes back about 60 years and has changed from Turner to Bortolussi .
When your family lived on Ryde Ave my friend, Jackie & I boarded upstairs. You two were both quite young. Sophie was so good to us and boy could she cook. I have so many fond memories of her from the 2 years we spent there. Jackie passed away from cancer 2 years ago or she would be sending you the same message as I. Your mom was a very special lady; friendly, generous and completely selfless. She even used to get up early in the morning to prepare something freshly baked for breakfast. Even after all these years she retains a special place in my thoughts & in my heart.
Wishing you & your families all the best in years to come.

Hello Len, Larry and families,
We were very sad to learn of your mother’s passing via the Chronicle Journal. I am glad that I was able to have known her through our friendship. I have many memories of being at your home on Jackpine Road through our high school years and being invited to stay for a meal by her. She sure was a caring person and made me feel like a part of your family not to mention she was also an awesome cook! Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.
