I will miss Susan. I used to see her from time to time when I visited Aunty Mary (R.I.P.) at the Avalon. Carm and I visited with her a few times at the various places she resided. She was always happy to see me. The last time I visited her at Simcoe Manor, the nurses said that she knew who I was. I hope she did. We had a lively conversation even though the only thing I really clearly understood was…. “I can hear you, you know!” when I repeated something a little louder because I thought she had not heard me. I laughed and laughed. Anna Maria Iaccouci and I were planning on visiting her in the next week at Simcoe Manor. I wish there had been a service just to say our good-byes and connect with family but Susan had her own plans. I will always remember Susan’s beautiful face and her perpetual smile. I will remember playing with her and Carm at Aunty Mary’s and Uncle Domenic’s home when we were little. Rest in peace, my beautiful cousin!!!! I offer my condolences to her Son, Jimmy, Carm and Phil, her sister-in-laws, Norma and Paulette, and all her nieces and nephews. Love, Lucy xox

We were saddened to hear of Susan’s passing. We were good pals/friends/neighbours in our teen years but haven’t been in touch for a very long time. Sorry to hear she had dementia. Terrible disease my Mother also died from the same way. I wish I had know she was so close as we now live in Newmarket. I have such fond memories of good times at your home on Sultana. Going after school to watch American Bandstand & dancing on the carpet & your Mom giving us heck because we were wearing it out. Lol also going to St. Eugene church to get the bulletin to prove she had been to Mass. She would have been interested to know that Keith & I have been Catholics for 30 yrs. it would have been nice to see all of u but u must respect her wishes. Our thoughts & prayers r with all of u. Nice She still had her beautiful smile. Fondly Mary Ann & Keith Steer xo

Jim and family. I’m sorry to hear your mother has passed. Strangely, I was just thinking of her and happened to Google her name and found this. So many wonderful memories going through a spot in life. I remember the first time we went to your place and she asked how old I was. I told her I was 19. I was 17. Every year for every birthday I was always 19. She was so ahead of her time and such a great spirit. We haven’t been in touch for years, but I hope you’re alright and get this message somehow. She really was a wonderful spirit and I’m so fortunate that our paths did cross. I hope you’re alright in life and am thinking of her and you through this tough time!

Susan where to start? I met you through the first fakowees, Ger, Dianne and Joan. Circa 1970 I’m guessing when I met you. You were a force to be reckoned with for sure but you always had that fierce fire about you. Small but mighty indeed with a laugh so contagious! My memories include masked invaders, nun costumes with fake light up guns, propane tank threats, tecquilla shots, keroiki, guns and roses, metallica, pink floyd, cornflake mornings…just to name a few!!
Susan love from Coordinator xoxoxo

To Jimmy, Carmon & Phil, and family. Rick & I have been trying to reach Sue for the past few years! It was a shock to read of her passing. Sue and I have been friends since we were 18, and I just stopped hearing from her a few years ago. I’ve been trying to find out where she was. I’m so sad to know she’s no longer with us. I think of her often, and will miss her, but memories stay with us, and we had lots of good ones. Rest in peace, my friend, and Rick and I offer our condolences to Jimmy and to the rest of the family.
