It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Tarcisio (Tarci) Daminato on Monday, October 7th, 2024 at the age of 94 years.
Born on September 16th, 1930, in Castello di Godego, Treviso, Italy, to parents Bruno Daminato (dec) and Angela Milani (dec), Tarcisio was a cherished brother to Pompeo Daminato; dec (Gina), Matteo Daminato; dec (Maria), Maria Didone; dec (Lino; dec), Bertilla Pelizzer (Mario), Lucia Daminato, and Luigina Simeone (Ricardo; dec).
In 1955, Tarcisio immigrated to Canada, and in 1957, was married to the love of his life, Bruna (nee Zanchetta), who he met in his hometown of Castello di Godego.
Tarcisio was treasured by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Giovanni Zanchetta; dec (Betty), Anna Bordignon (Mario; dec) and Matteo Zanchetta; dec (Franca).
Tarci and Bruna settled in the small town of Copper Cliff, Ontario, where Tarcisio was a skilled tradesman who worked in the construction industry for many years. He eventually started his own business, “Tarci Carpentry” and could always be found with a measuring tape on his belt and a pencil behind his ear.
Tarcisio was the devoted father of two children, Cheryl Spigarelli (Enzo) and Robert Daminato (Catherine) who he loved unconditionally.
Tarcisio was also the proud Nonno of Lauren Nucciarone (Michael), Ryan Spigarelli (Lisa), Caitlin Daminato (Kerry) and Christopher Daminato, and an adoring bisnonno to Alexander Nucciarone.
He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and Australia.
Tarcisio was happiest when sitting at the head of the table, surrounded by his family and friends and enjoying a meal and a glass of homemade wine.
His kindness to others and generous spirit made him a beloved member of the community, respected by all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank the oncology staff from Brampton Civic Hospital and Spectrum Health Care, especially his primary nurse, Jennifer Huehn, who cared for Tarcisio with warmth and compassion.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213).
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday morning, October 16th at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 11873 The Gore Road, Brampton. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 7300 Highway #27, Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the William Osler Health System Foundation, which will bring expanded cancer care services to Brampton Civic Hospital: https://support.oslerfoundation.org/site/Donation2?1503.donation=form1&df_id=1503&mfc_pref=T

Dear Bruna and family. We were deeply saddened to hear of Tarci’s passing. He was a wonderful man and very giving of his time. We especially would like to acknowledge all the work he did at the Societa Italiana Di Copper Cliff. He was always there when something needed fixing. He also designed and made the sign in front of the kitchen door promoting our Italian cuisine. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
