November 6, 1950 – December 11, 2010
Following a brief illness, Vern passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2010.
Cherished husabnd of Jennifer for 38 years. Loving and proud father of Marica (Shawn) and devoted papa to Ocean and Jaxson. Vern is also survived by his mother, Juanita and sister, Valerie (Greg) Hempenstall and uncle of Erin, Catherine and Meagan.
Vern had a deep passion for car racing which was only surpassed by his overwhelming love for his grandchildren.
As per Vern’s wishes, there will be no funeral service but a celebration in honour of his life will take place in January, 2011 for family and close friends. If desired, memorial donations to Sick Kids Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Vern’s memory would be appreciated.
