Janus, I am so sorry about your loss. Your father was a very special person and his self sacrifice to save people he didn’t know at a very real risk to his own life is a tremendous merit for his lofty soul and a true legacy for his family. You had a special privilege to be able to bring your father here, support him, take care of his needs and be that special son that most of us only hope to be. I always told you that I saw in you that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and your sensitivity to people and your devotion is a clear indication that you are indeed your fathers son. I am honored that you remembered me to inform me at this very difficult time for you. I do cherish your friendship and it will always be an honor to have met your father and to consider you a friend.
May your father rest in peace in the Heavenly Abode where he has earned himself a distinguished spot next to the Almighty.
Wishing you only good health and happiness,
Your friend,
Ithiel Edward Snyder

Janus,
I’m so sorry for your loss. I feel very lucky that I had a chance to meet both of your parents in Canada. They were very special people. Your dad will be missed.
Zyta Daykin
Janusz, I am so sad that you have lost your father and I have lost my uncle, my last link to my Dad.
From the first time I met Uncle Witek in 1961 to the last time I saw him the day he died, he never changed. He was loving, gentle, kind, generous, compassionate, tolerant, modest. Uncle Witek had a good sense of humour and a ready smile, making the best of any situation without complaint but with grace and dignity. He adored Aunty Zyta and you but always had enough love to share with family and friends. His courage during the war was recognized by many but seldom mentioned by him.
On receiving the news of his death, my husband, Roger, said, “He was a good man and he will be missed”. That is a fitting epitaph for your wonderful father.
