Our dearly beloved father, Wm. Rodger McLean passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Our family can not fully express how great a loss this is to us. He is survived by his children Leeann McLean, Wm Robin McLean, Robin’s wife Heidi Luig-McLean, stepdaughter Michelle Rapley, stepson Robert Chiasson, his brother, partner in trouble, James Patrick McLean (Pat), Pat’s wife Kim McLean, and dear friend Lucy Lourenco. He survived Shirley McLean (1995), mother of Leeann and Robin, Barbara Chiasson (2002), mother of Michelle and Robert, his sister Dorothy Stephenson and her husband Albert Stephenson. He was a life-long truck driver and was the hardest working person we ever met. He worked for 27 year with Solda Pools. The Solda Family and their team were like family to Rodger. Rodger was so proud be a part of Solda Pools and loved his job. He enjoyed fishing and loved hanging out at racetracks even more. He was so proud being part of Robin’s race team and was a big supporter of the Outlaw Midget Race Club. He and his brother Pat were the Old Guys helping out in the pits. The thing that made him the happiest was hanging with his family over a good meal. Heidi’s father Helmut and Rodger became fast friends. Making big feasts for the dads was some of the best memories that we will always cherish. He was our rock. We love him. We will always love him.
Due to Covid restrictions we will hold a private viewing and service with a celebration of his life following at a later date.
On behalf of the McLean family, we’d like to thank everyone who touched and shared his life.

Very saddened to hear of Rodgers passing. He was the cool Dad of the group and was always interested in what we were up to. Going to Varney speedway with him was always a great time. The big old Solda Pools Ford 9000 was like an extension of his arm. He certainly wasnt like the new truckers of today. He could back the truck and trailer into position first try and make it look easy. One Hell of a good man. Condolenses to the entire family.

My deepest condolences to the McLean Family. Sorry for your loss Leeann and Robin. I knew you both very well many years ago. We had some great moments together. My mother had mentioned about the loss of your Father the other day to me and I know that she posted on here as well, but I just wanted to express my feelings as well! God bless and stay safe 🙂
