Peacefully at her home on Monday, February 20, 2023, Yvonne Reiter left us at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Tibor Reiter (2006). Loving mother of Stephen, Paul and his wife Laura. Cherished Nana of Carly, Erik and Sarah (+ Brad).
Yvonne was born and raised in Manchester, England where she married her soulmate, Tibi, in 1960. They immigrated to Canada together with their sons in 1964; but remained close to their large, extended families in both England and Hungary.
Honouring Yvonne’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will follow on Sunday April 2nd, 2023 with details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dog Tales Rescue (www.dogtales.ca/donate) in her honour, as her kindness and compassion extended well beyond humans, and to all four-legged friends.
Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

My condolences Stephen, Paul and Laura (and children) for the passing of your mother (and grandmother).
I think of my friend Laura often wishing her well and happy. From time to time I catch up on what is going on and as the case is now I find about the passing.
I hope you are surrounded by family and friends to help comfort you during this difficult time. I hope there are beautiful memories to comfort as well.
Sending hugs.

My Sunday nights are never going to be quite the same. About once a month 9pm UK time my dear favourite cousin and me would have a really long conversation on our iPad messenger calls. We always ended up putting the world to rights and having a chat about everything and anything. We always cheered each other up. Far apart by miles but as close as sisters in our hearts. I will miss you dear Yvonne. Thanks for the lovely memories❤️
Our thoughts are with Stephen, Paul, Laura, Carly, Erik and Sarah and Brad.
Lots of love from Linda and Colin xxxx

Dear Paul, Stephen and family we are so sorry for your loss.
Your Mom was a wonderful, thoughtful special friend to me.
I very much enjoyed her company on our Saturday outings to our favorite stores.
A girl needs to eat so lunch was always a must there we were able to have a nice chat about family and life .
My Saturday shopping will not be the same for a long time without my friend.
I miss you so much Yvonne but I will always cherish the memories I have from our time we spend together
Rest in peace my friend hugs xxoo
Much love to all of you the Schuster family

I got to know Yvonne when she moved around the corner a few years ago. She always had a warm greeting for Sophie, my miniature schnauzer. We shared many chats on the phone. I enjoyed seeing Yvonne standing at the door as I walked by. Yvonne was a wonderful neighbor and will be missed immensely.
I am thinking of Stephen and Paul at this difficult time.

“Tante” (aunt) Yvonne had known me since I was in my mom’s belly. Ever since I was little, Tante Yvonne wasn’t just a neighbour but a kind, generous, loving aunt to me. I got to spend my childhood swimming in her and Onkel Tibi’s pool, Christmases were spent taking Christmas photos down at Hudson’s Bay with Santa Claus and too many other memories good and bad. Tante Yvonne was always a cheerful person who always wanted the best for me. We shared a mutual love for romance novels and animals, and I’ll miss sharing animal videos with her on Facebook and Instagram and maybe the odd hot Australian firefighter video. Lol. Tante Yvonne was a constant in my life and my mom’s and she will be immensely missed. I’ll miss you Tante Yvonne.
Love Stephanie xo
